Grand Voyage: Malta to Las Palmas on Star Flyer
Discover a new age of sailing aboard the Star Flyer, where the traditions of the past are happily married to the comforts and amenities of the present.
A modern cruise ship in every way, the four-mast, 16-sail boat is created for passengers who love the traditions and romance of the legendary era of sailing ships. Life aboard is blissfully relaxed, much like traveling on a private yacht. Two pools on the Sun Deck invite sunbathers, while an intimate piano bar is available for evening entertainment. Guests needing a little downtime can visit the Edwardian-style library, with its glowing fireplace.
All cabins are outfitted with marble-lined bathrooms with showers, double or twin beds that can be converted to queen-size beds, a television with in-house video, direct dial telephone and hair dryer.
The brainchild of Swedish entrepreneur, Mikael Krafft, Star Clippers operates three of the largest barquentine and full-rigged sailing ships in the world. Star Clipper, Star Flyer and flagship, Royal Clipper are a triumvirate of four and five-masted sailing ships that offer the activities, amenities and atmosphere of a private yacht at a price which is often less than one would pay on a large, mass-marketed cruise ship. With Star Clippers, Mikael Krafft has realized his lifelong dream to provide a unique sailing experience for his passengers in full harmony with the environment, the sea and often away from ports congested with tourists.
